This popular black sew-on beret bow is made from black ribbon and is designed to go on the back of your beret and can be easily sewn / stitched into position
For many years it's typically been worn by the Parachute regiment and other airborne forces units including
- 7 Para Rha
- 9 Para Sqn RE
- 216 Para Signals Sqn
- 13 Air Support Supply Regiment
These are sewn onto the rear of their maroon berets, to tidy the back up. Many people say this is a battle honour from Arnhem.
Over recent years many more regiments have since adopted the bow as part of their uniform again worn on the back of the beret
